The early history is unknown, ut it was purchased by TLC 4X4 in 2000 and then sold to a local customer along with a brand new Toyota 14B diesel engine, -speed transmission and the ancillary bits necessary for installation of the replacement drivetrain. The specialists at TLC also consulted throughout the installation and sorting process. The 14B is a 3.7L inline four-cylinder eight valve direct injection diesel engine that powered the Toyota Bandeirante (Brazilian Land Cruiser) from 1994 until the cease of production in 2001. In addition to the drivetrain, ther improvements from stock include Old Man Emu suspension and power steering stabilizer, 6 inch steel wheels, RB locking rear differential and onboard air compressor, arn winch and Sony Stereo CD Player and speakers. During the restoration, he body was repainted the original color, une Beige, nd the seats were covered in grey vinyl. The interior floors were sanded and sprayed with a very light layer of black coating and then covered with new floor mats. The undercarriage is unrestored and solid. It doesn't hide any rust under black rattle can paint or heavy coatings. Since being restored, his FJ has been driven just over 20,000 trouble free miles. Most recently it was fitted with new 235/85R16 BF Goodrich KO2 tires, he brake system was gone through, he suspension aligned and the ARB compressor replaced.
