My dad bought this car new when he was 66 years old and drove it like a baby. He had the car serviced at Longo Toyota in Covina, a. regularly for 20 years. I bought the car from him 8 years ago and haven't driven her very much since. This car has only 58,500 original miles, ever been raced, ever driven in the snow and very few times in the rain, nd she has been garage-queen all its life except this past couple of years, ut has mostly kept covered. The car is in current use but isn't driven daily.
The targa top has only been off one time ever. My dad took the top off once to show my sister what the car looks like when he first bought it. I've never seen the top off and it does not leek.
The car has been smoked in, ut not in the last 25+ years. My dad smoked cigarettes but quit shortly after he bought this car. There are about two tiny burns marks on the driver's seat and no other signs or smells from smoking. No animals have ever ridden in this car. The interior is like new everything inside works except the air conditioner which is not charged but other than that it has all factory options except leather seats & air bags. Also have rare dealer option dash cover & Supra floor mats. There are a few small spots behind the rear seats on the rear deck carpet.
This car has a limited slip rear-end. TEMS suspension. ABS brakes. Tilt & extension steering wheel. Factory AM & FM and cassette player. Factory Toyota security system. Rare dealer optional chrome rims with Goodyear Eagle tires, ut the chrome is showing its age. One tire has a slow leak which takes about 3 months. The factory spare tire has never been mounted.
Engine fires right up runs smooth and quite. The original factory turbocharger works fine. There are two small/slow fluid leaks; the power steering and the clutch. Both leaks take about a year or more to leak down. The 5 speed transmission shifts smooth through all gears. Brakes are fine.
The paint is great although there are a couple of small spots (size of a half dollar) where the clear coat is wearing and the nose and rear bumper have some sun fade and some wear where the car cover has rubbed. There are almost no rock-nicks, nd no door dings in the paint/body, nd I don't think there are any rock-nicks in the windshield. There is one small dent in the hood right where the radiator is which is and that is the only spot where there is rust (smaller than a dime — see picture). It's about the only flaw on the body. The passenger side front marker light is not working. The gas hood shocks that hold the hood open are dead/shot and need to be replaced.
