Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1992
This is a project I started a few years ago and sadly I cannot finish it. I bought the SUV with conversion in place then added my own up grades seen below. The gentleman that did the Cummins conversion is master diesel mechanic in Washington state and at the time of purchase I can provide his contact information if you have any questions about the diesel conversion. He re-titled the truck as a diesel in Washington. The truck is in great shape; rust free with only one tear in the back of the front passenger seat. Like all of the FJ80’s it has third row seating and with this conversion to the totally mechanical diesel engine there is no computer in the car thus making it very reliable. This is a great truck and I really hate to see it go. The only problem I have had with the truck was when I first got it during the hot Los Angeles summer I had some over heating issues which I solved with the below fixes with the custom radiator and additions of electric fans. I’m sure this would not of been a problem up in the north west where the conversion was done. Work I was going to do and have not completed My dreams with this truck were to build the ultimate expedition vehicle. I was going to do a dual tank veggie oil conversion which the Cummins 4BT is perfect for. Here is the link to there operation in Colorado. http://www. goldenfuelsystems. com There was a company that made an after market 44 gal aux fuel tank that fit where the spare tire goes. These tanks can’t be sourced anymore but I was going to have a custom one made. Other things I was planning below 1. 15. 00 warn winch 2. Rear ABR bumper 3. Car top tent camper Pre my Purchase 1. Engine: Cummins 4BT with 3500 miles. this was a rebuild. With mechanical injection pump. 2. Transmission: Bolted up to Chevy R4 Automatic transmission with manual locking torque converter and transmission cooler. 3. Transfer Case: Manual FJ60 Transfer Case (Never been used. I have not had the truck off road) 4. Old Man Emu 4” lift Post my Purchase upgrades Dual Batteries 6. Custom radiator with pusher and puller electric fans. (Not enough room in engine compartment for engine driven fan) 7. New ABR Front bumper 8. New 34” Nito Trail Grappler Tires 9. New Pro Comp Aluminum Wheels 10. Double up on factory gauges: Oil Pressure. Volt. Water Temp. and Tachometer. (I did this to just back up the old factory gauges. The factory Tach does not work never could figure out how to get the sending unit to work with the Cummins 4BT) 11. Snorkel air intake I have 32. 00. 00 into this vehicle and sadly I have to sell it to deal with other bills. Truck is being sold in "as is condition" no returns or refunds. If need I can work out shipping for you within the continental US. depending on your location this can be added to the winning bid price. Evans Brown 213-305-8591
