Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1990
I purchased this 1990 FJ60 Cruiser about6 years ago and have driven around town and loved it. It's been a great truck, runs strong and hasn't given me any engine trouble at all. The 4X4 works great and I've driven this on the beach without issue, never gets stuck. It passed inspection last year. It runs strong and consistent and starts right up. The only reason I'm selling is because we've had baby #4 and I don't get to use it often, if at all. The body has some rust as you can see and can use some TLC, time that I just don't have. Each Spring I put some money in it ($500ish) to get it going for the year and have all that paperwork. It will show new brakes, new brake lines, etc....over the last 6 years a bunch of little things have been upgraded (nothing major needed).
The truck comes with some cool perks: (1) as you see in the picture, the off road package (roofrack, grill, side bars, and (2) a built in DUKES OF HAZZARD horn. Yes, exactly what you think, upon holding the horn down it plays the Dukes of Hazzard horn--awesome for around town. To this day, everybody knows our truck because of that awesome horn!
Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this truck, comes with 1 key. See below for what works well and what may need some attention.
What works Well
- Motor
- 4X4
- Power Windows (go figure!)
- Brakes
- Cassette player
- Horn
What it needs
- Has body rust, may need some bondo/attention (most can be bondo'd in my mind, the only thing I would recommend replacing is the tailgate if you want to open it down--the upward glass opens just fine and I only use that for in and out loading)
- Headlights - 2 of 4 need replacing, maybe some of the tail lights
- Dashboard console - a chipmunk (I think) ate through the wires this spring and the speedometer, odometer, gas gauge, etc... aren't working. Need to rewire/replace
- Other surface rust - every year it passed inspection and I ask about the frame and I'm told it's strong, has some surface rust and at some point may need some additional welding to strengthen but it's never given me a problem and has continued to pass inspection
- Some minor buttons missing inside and vent covers. Comes with seat covers (can send pic if need to see)
Overall, this is a GREAT truck for anyone who has the time to fix it up cosmetically and/or just leave as is and drive it around (the rust adds a certain cosmetic flair of originality). Email with any questions.
