Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1979
1979 FJ45 Stunning condition Frame off restoration. 60,000 original miles.
I am the 3rd owner.
If you are reading this description you know how rare this truck is, and you know that this is a very desirable year.
This awesome pickup was used on a coffee plantation in a dry area in Guatemala called Santa Rosa. It was used sparingly only during harvesting. Several years ago the 2nd owner purchased the pickup to enjoy on weekend outings. He sold the car to me because he doesn’t use it enough. The pickup was painted red, but when I decoded the tag I discovered it was originally sky blue!!! During the frame off restoration we uncovered areas with the original blue.
Truck was painted 3 months ago. there is small paint chip on inside driver door.
Original 2f 6cylinder gasoline engine with wonderful 3 speed manual transmission. 4wd. With high and low 4wd it has 9 speeds total. Run and drives well. 4wd works as it should. Surface rust only on chassis. Never wrecked
Too many new parts to list but I will mention some. Most parts were ordered thru Cool Cruisers of Texas, but I sourced parts asfar away as Australia!!!

Bed was NOT restored-I left it with its dings and dents in case someone wants to still use the bed without having reservations. Bed is solid and ready for use. Please look at pictures for reference. Also I did not paint the frame. I wanted to show the beautiful original patina. The rear fender wells as well as the floorboards were patched by previous owner. These are not show quality repairs, but solid. Please review pictures. The seat is from a later model Toyota pickup. I decided to keep it because it is so comfortable. It is restored in a vintage style and looks incredible.
This vehicle has no power steering and no power brakes. The brakes work VERY well, it has 2 cylinders per wheel. The suspension does NOT make noises. It is firm and true. I enjoy driving it. Just be sure you know what you are buying. It is not fast, but will get you there with a smile!!!! . Be prepared for folks to go crazy when they see this. I have owned several classic cars. Nice ones. But this truck has gotten the most attention of any of them. I have had folks literally pull me over while I was driving to ask me about it- and give me complements....its just one of those cars.
This FJ has a very low reserve
