Description for Toyota Corolla 1989
Please check my feedback anything I sell is private goods and I list as many flaws as I can find in any used product. This is a true classic, 1989 all Japan made Corolla with low miles. I bought this car almost 2 decades ago when it had 29,000 on it and never had any issues besides normal items that wear out. In this case, a few. I have replaced- the battery last month with an expensive one, a few years ago I replaced the alternator and radiator, and I replaced and converted the entire air conditioning system 2 years ago with the work done by a licensed mechanic. It gets as cold as a new car would.
The car will start every time, even after sitting a week, these old Japanese electronics seemed to never wear out. There is no smoke issues, no burning oil, valve or crank knocks. It runs about like new, though it will at times in the summer idle slightly high for some reason and needs to be shut off in neutral. It comes and goes. Besides that it purrs at 75 on the highway with no rattle or shake like an old car, its firm and feels like driving a souped up large go kart! Tires are in good shape, though the back rear does lose air once a week so it may have a small nail somewhere. One of the rear tail lights got cracked, I temporarily covered it with some tape, and like most things "temporary" never got around to replacing it. The headliner is finally starting to come down though it's not bad enough to be ripped off yet. The shifter indicator plastic finally cracked after decades of UV rays, so it has an epoxy coating over it.
Generally little nitpicky things and age is it's only issues. The 3 speed transmission shifts like new, motor and all mechanicals are fine, oh, except it will need a driver side CV joint eventually. That's about all I can think of that it needs. I have driven it enough to keep things from going bad but it's never been my primary car. Now it's just taking up space and someone else may be able to use it daily or as a backup.. Super dependable I would not hesitate to drive it cross country and back.
Located in Jax Florida most of its life so no salt, or beach use, and no rust. It could use a paint job. Please contact me with any questions.
