Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1973
Up for sale is my 1973 FJ40. I purchased it a few years back, with the dreams of fully restoring it to show quality. I bought it from a man who purchased it from the first owner. It was originally from Sacramento California. It was always well kept according to the man I purchased it from. He bought it from California from the original owners less than 10 years ago and drove it up to Spokane Washington, where I bought it. Since I have had it, it has been in my garage. I am no expert, but from what I can see, it looks all original. It has the straight 6 cylindar that is correct for this year. I really can find any rust on the vehicle. The guy I bought it from did a nice job repainting the rig. It looks like there may be a hint of rust occurring under the paint in a couple of spots. I do not really know what work has been done on the vehicle. It really runs like a champ. I just bought a new battery for it. The miles say 85,000, however, about 1,000 miles ago, the speedometer stopped working...and along with it...the odometer. But it is almost exactly what it reads. The only things I notice, is that it may have a small radiator leak, the exhaust manifold gasket needs to be replaced (I can hear it), and the clutch seems to need some adjustment. The tires look good. The paint is the original Toyota auto color (according to the man), but it really needs to have a full restoration and body work done to make it look like show quality. The paint on the hood looks like it was cracking just a bit. The lights seem to work well. Transmission is good, shifts into all gears and goes around 60 mph in 4th gear. It also comes with a LC box between the seats. The front seats do not look original. I do have to say...this is a really solid rig. The floor boards all all 100% solid from what I can see. The original owner also rhino lined the under fenders and undercarriage at one point. I could not load up any under photos, but if you want them, please message e your number. It has always been a dream of mine to own one of these, so I am not crazy about selling it....but bills have to be paid. Thanks for looking and let me know if I can tell you anything else. Also, if anyone is really interested, I have original landcruiser wheels that I can through in the back for an extra $100.The really important thing to know about payment is that I require a $500 deposit to be paid within 24hrs of winning the bid. Once that is paid, the remainder needs to be paid in a cashiers check to me. I can hold the vehicle and help load it onto a truck or dolly. The seller is 100% responsible for arranging pickup and transport.
