Description for Toyota Van Wagon 1986
I have an ugly toyota van for sale... really ugly inside and out. It's a 1986 toyota van/ wagon/ vanagon, it runs well, but transmission is shot. The bad: the speedometer cable housing fell out of the tranny at 70mph, draining the transmission. I triedto put the housing back together and refill the tranny, but it was dark and I failed to properly reinstall it. I limped the van 15 miles home and discovered the extent of the problem, transmission is toast, but plugging the hole and refilling did restore 1st and reverse.
The rear driverside break deal failed, and it leaked out all the break fluid, emergency break still works.
The windshield washer is clogged.
The driverside window is starting to slip it's track, but it still works.
The ugly: the interior is in really bad shape. The driver and passenger seats need to be re-paddedand recovered, however the frames are in good shape.
The windshield has a chip, less than an inch at its widest point.
The rear area needs to be recarpeted, I tryed and failed.
It comes with a rear bench seat, but it's out of a dodge caravan.
That body is old. I found a couple of suffice that spots, but a proper paint job should take care of those. The battery is dead, but can jump start it with little problem. The good: the motor was rebuilt a year or so ago. Runs well, and was my primary vehicle for hauling my four kids around Vegas for 6 months.
The tires are two years old, but in good shape.
I replaced the entire power steering system; pump, high pressure lines, and rack-n-pinion.
New alturnator, fog lights, and complete tune-up with-in the last 6 months.
The van is worth a rebuild, as they sell for several thousand in fair to good condition. I bought it to rebuild it, but then my caravan died. I was still going to rebuild it after the tranny went out, it was weak already, but my wife decided she couldn't stand being a mother... with four young kids around all the time, I don't have the time. It is a unique little van with a great turning radius.
It is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end early if it is no longer available. I may be able to help with delivery, depending on the offer and location. I will assist with transportation company to access the vehicle.
