Description for Toyota Corolla 1985
Hi, I have my 1985 Toyota Corolla GT-S for sale. This is a real GT-S and unmodified.I'll try to represent this vehicle as best as I can. I've owned it only for 9 months.
I purchased the car without much background history on the car. I know the car lived most of it's life either in Colorado and Wyoming. The seller I purchased the car from was in Wyoming.
I had the best intentions to keep the car and eventually give it the restoration it deserves, but as everyone knows, life gets in the way, and unfortunately we need to part ways.
During the time I've had it I've only done a few items:- Replaced radiator w/ aftermarket unit (OEM was leaking badly from the top)- Replaced center console door (common issue to be broken)- New OEM sunvisors- New OEM wiper and headlight switches
The car is very original, retaining a lot of the OEM parts including the radio. I'm not sure it's had the easy life, as the paint is very faded. There are small surface rust spots around the gas fill door, and rust damage on the passenger rocker panel. There is also rust damage in the trunk pockets.
It looks like the car has been in some collision in the front. There is some "shoddy" repair behind the passenger headlight to straighten out the rad support. The paint looks mismatched on the fenders.
The interior of the car is very worn, but complete. The seats need to be redone, and the dash has a few cracks from sun damage.
When I purchased the car I drove it home from Cheyenne, WY to Fort Collins, CO without any issues. I heard a small "tick" from the motor, but didn't think much of it. Unfortunately, it's starting to sound like this is "rod knock". Still starts, runs, idles great. I was planning on doing a OEM rebuild to refresh the engine.
Other than ALL the problems above, it's a really cool car. It's hard to find examples that haven't been modified.
Please contact me via email for questions. I'd be happy to discuss the car with any potential buyer over the phone but it would have to be in the evenings, as I'm usually tied up in meetings during the day.
I wouldn't suggest "driving this home" because of the potential engine problems I've listed above.
