Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1989
This is the super clean rust free Land Cruiser you always wanted. Its an incredibly fun vehicle that draws constant attention. This isn't my first and won't be my last Land Cruiser. I went with the Japanese import because I wanted the turbo diesel 12HT motor for the increased power, reliability, and longevity. You quickly adjust to the right hand drive and now its one of my favorite features. The 12HT turbo diesel motor is paired with an automatic transmission and manual locking front diffs. All the standard features work including AC, power windows, power locks, powered mirrors, heated seat, altimeter, and sunroof. When I purchased the vehicle in 2016 it already had the old man emu lift and tires. The tires are in great shape and I've never used it as a daily driver. I have a full size spare with matching wheel. Right after purchase I started working on making this a reliable stress free classic. All the mechanical work has been done at State Automotive, a well known Land Cruiser shop here in Utah. I have receipts for almost everything I've done. I'm sure I'll forget a few things but the list below should give you an idea. Everything except the transfer case, which was leaking, was done before showing any signs of trouble.
--Mechanical Work
-Rebuild front knuckles
-New radiator
-New thermostat
-New hoses
-New fan clutch
-New water pump
-New batteries
-New battery cables & terminal ends
-3' straight exhaust
-Tachometer repair
-Transfer case re-build
-New transmission cooler line
--Exterior
-A body shop removed the paint on the lower half of the vehicle and cut out all the rust. They replaced both quarter and rocker panels using patch panels from cruiserparts.net. This project alone cost close to $10,000.
-Replaced the front grille and light casings.
-Custom built steel roof rack with tower rail mounts-Aftermarket rear bumper with hitch
-LED bulbs
--Interior
-All four doors have been reupholstered
-Dynomat sound dampening inside all doors, behind the panels, and in the cargo area
-New rear speakers
-Installed two 24v to 12v converters. One is dedicated to the deck and the other powers three charging ports.-Updated deck with bluetooth and mic-Aftermarket steering wheel and rear viewmirror
--Things that could be fixed-The back right window. The window motor and controls work fine but the track broke so it would slip and get stuck. I unplugged it so no one would accidentallyroll it down.-The sunroof glass has a 3-4 inch crack. It doesn't leak.-Outside temperature gauge. Itgoes blank for a couple minutes randomly.-The dashboard has two 5-6 inch slits above the steering wheel. It currently has a full dash cover to protect it from further sun damage.
Feel free to email me with any additional questions. The vehicle is currently registered in Utah. The VIN isHJ61013360, ebay doesn't recognizeit since its a Japanese import.
