Description for Toyota Other 1989
I bought this truck in 1993 with about 59,000 miles on it, and for the last 25 years, it has been a great vehicle. I've changed the oil *every* 3000 miles since I've owned it. Coolant also gets changed every other oil change, and I also cycle the brake fluid in the reservoir. All original documentation is included (see photo)The good:
- Passed smog. Smog cert dated 9/24/2018 in hand.
- Includes both camper shell and lumber rack. Pretty easy to swap between the two, though you need a helper to get the camper shell on. I'm selling it with the camper shell mounted and the lumber racks inside.
- Solid bedliner has been installed by the previous owner over 25 years ago.
- #2 trailer hitch included and trailer wiring is ready to go.
- You don't have to worry about power steering or air conditioning breaking because the truck has neither.
- New super-bright LED headlights installed in the past year. No need for high-beam with these. (I didn't wire it for high-beam)
- It's a 4-speed geared low and is great at pulling heavy trailers.
- Trailer wiring included. Ready to tow.
- Brand new tires. Less than 1000 miles on all of them.
- Just changed the oil and coolant in early Sept.
- New O2 sensor
- New paint on the rear bumper
- New spark plugs
- Passes smog every time.
- There are just under 200k miles.
- Dash cover included (see photo)
- 6 extra keys included, including the factory original which I only used to cut all the other keys
- New passenger-side mirror
- Repair manual included (see photo)
The bad:
Odometer and speedometer are broken.
Odometer says 175,000 miles. I have the smog certs that show it stopped working 6 years ago and I average 2300 miles per year, so it's pretty accurate to say it has about 189k miles now.
The left front body panel is wrinkled.
The driver-side original seat is torn. I've had a seat cover on it for the last 10 years.
Paint is faded all around
Minor rust spots need some touch-up
The driver's side window knob comes off when you try to roll the driver's side window down. The handle still works fine so you either have to fix the knob so it doesn't come off or get used to using the handle without the knob (that's what I've done)
Windshield washer doesn't work.
The awesome:
This is hands down an amazing truck. Now that my business is no longer building houses and I spend my time carting kids around in my Nissan Leaf, it's time to sell. I'd love to keep it, but I can't justify $500 per year in registration and insurance to have an amazing truck sit in my driveway.
