Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1988
The Land Cruiser is probably the most capable off-road vehicle ever built and probably always will be. I know this is not a statement that everyone feels is true, however you cant lie with International following. You go to any third world country with no roads and the only thing traveling around is the Land Cruiser. New ones or old ones, it does not matter. The other thing that is amazing is that no one ever questions mileage on these...vehicle. The J60 series is fantastic in the fact that it took over for the 40 series, which was a very capable off roader but not very civilized for expressway use. This truck entered suburban areas all over the US in the masses. It was comfortable enough to take to soccer practice yet take off to the family cottage on the weekend. This particular FJ62 which has the upgraded 4.0 Liter engine with fuel injection mated to a automatic transmission making this a very capable 75 MPH highway cruiser. This Cruiser was originally a California rig that was restored by TLC sometime before 2004 when my consignor picked it up at a dealer in New York. Since 2004 the vehicle has been used as a summer driver with routine service. Most recently just this year a new transmission pan and gaskets were done along with tires. A new battery and brakes have also been replaced recently. This truck starts, runs and drives down the road as it should with working 4-wheel drive. The interior shows very nicely for the year and the body shines up well also. We all know what kind of prices are being demanded for these rigs and there has been no slow down.
