Description for Toyota Corona 1981
Vehicle DetailsThis is a super rare, all original Toyota Corona. It's a luxury edition and very few were made. I was told it was 1 of 4 sold in the US with the options it has. It has some cool options like cruise control, a/c, inside and outside temperature gauge, liftback etc. It's the first year of the legendary 22r motor and the last generation that was sold in the US. Coronas have a very rich history and are one of the reasons why Toyota is so successful today. This car is 98% original and is like a time capsule from the early 80's. You could daily drive it, have it as a weekend cruiser, add it to a jdm collection or even turn it into a drift car. It's a blast to drive with the 22r, 5 speed manual transmission and rear wheel drive.
-------Options/Equipped:
-1981 Toyota Corona Luxury Edition Liftback
-2.4L 22R 4 Cylinder
-5 Speed Manual Transmission
-Rear-Wheel Drive
-A/C
-Cruise Control
-170k Miles(100k towed behind an rv)
-New Tires(500 Miles)
-Tow Bar Setup

--------Engine/Drivetrain(9/10):
The drivetrain is mostly all original. It runs great and cruises on the freeway. It has had a full service done recently.
New:
Carburetor
Fuel pump
All belts
All fluids
Master cylinder
Battery
Tires
Plugs
All filters
Valve adjustment
I still have the original parts that came off of the car if you wanted to rebuild them and put them back on. I have the original carburetor, Aisin master cylinder, I still have some other original parts for it as well.
----------Interior(8.5/10):
The interior is 100% original which is a good thing but also could be a bad thing. It is very complete and comfortable but it could use a new headliner. The AZ heat has made it brittle. It has the original stereo which could probably use an upgrade as well.
----------Body(8.5/10):
The body looks really good and the original paint has been well maintained and still has some gloss to it. It does have a few scratches and dings here and there but there is no body work or bondo on this classic. I have the original passenger mirror for it but it's missing the glass. It's a very sporty looking hatchback.
This Car looks and drives amazing for being 40+ years old. It is super original and has low miles for the legendary 22r. 170k on the odometer but it was flat towed for about 100k behind an rv(tow setup included in sale). It sips gas and would make a great collectors item for someone. On Bring-A-Trailer they routinely sell for about 10-16k.
TLC Needed:
-Headliner
-Passenger mirror
-Fuel sending unit for gauge
-Distributor vacuum advance
-Blower motor for heater recently went out
Thanks for looking and happy motoring!!!
