Description for Triumph Other 1962
This 1962 Triumph TR4 is frame uprestored to what I considergood driver condition. Newer paint is very good with a few minor flaws only noticeable under close inspection. Everyone that has looked at it says the paint looks good but I am very picky. There is no rust on the car and the bottom has been undercoated with POR15 for years of rust free driving. The interior is new with tan leather seats. In my opinion the seats and panels are of average quality with some imperfections. Don't get me wrong as it looks good to the casual observer but I'm not happy with it for what I paid.
I spent a lot of $ onvarious new chrome pieces including new taillights, irrors, tc. It has decent bumpers but re-chromed or new would really add a lot to it. The engine was rebuilt before I got it and runs very strong with very good oil pressure. Tranny shifts well and overdrive works properly. All lights and gauges work. Rewiring was done as well. The dash has a fewnon-original parts like a horn button. It does have a new beautiful wood dash and wood steering wheel. The very raresurrey top has a fiberglass rear piece (not aluminum as original) and an extremely rare (something like 500 made) aluminum targa top that is very original. Also has a tonneau cover and the convertible top frame. New minilite type wheels. New brakes and clutch. I was told that this car has a rarer short bubble hood on it. Without too much effort or big $ this classic with rare options could be at a $35,000. to $40,000. value. The reserve I put on it is way below what it's value is.
