Description for Triumph TR 4 1964
This Triumph had been in storage for a long period. Previous history not really known restoration apparently started but never completed. Only information I have is my observations from returning car to driving cond. I removed head oil pan and pistons and found new internal parts (rod + main bearings timing gears and chain head rebuilt). I in-stalled a new set of piston rings before reassembly. Clutch + pressure plate also appeared new. Car now runs well transmission (non-overdrive) also works well. Frame looks good (body was not off frame). Left front fender and section of left front inner fender were replaced. Rear corner sections of hood were repaired rear fender seams were filled to body and chrome strips eliminated. Outer rocker panels replaced. Floors are solid but patched in foot well area also inner rockers patched. Rest of body bumpers and grille OK. None of interior is original (has later TR 6 seats) but all is decent and serviceable for driver quality car. Conv. top is used (no rips plastic windows are clear). Most lights turn signals gauges elect. system in working order. New windshield gasket and w/s frame to body gasket installed new inner and outer door glass weather strips installed. This is the best info. I can provide. I will try to answer any other questions also accommodate anyone who would like to see car in person before auction ends (always recommended). I have clear Pa. title in my name. This car is driver quality or possibly a good candidate to restore to a higher level. This car was not and is not represented as a total restoration. It still needs TLC in some areas but I have no more time to devote to it. It is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied all sales final. Will ship to U.S. or overseas-all shipping arrangements and costs are buyers responsibility. Down payment of $500.00 due at close of auction balance due in 7 days from close unless otherwise arranged. Cash bank draft or wire transfer of funds accepted.
