We recently purchased this car from an Estate Sale Up North . We have very little info on the car. But We have a Quebec Clean Title . The motor turns . but We did not try to start it. Today. the GT6 is already a 46-year-old car. It's a fast-rising collectible among Triumph fans in the know. but not so desirable among non-Triumph collectors. and only because they never owned one- they have no idea how much fun these little coupes are to drive. It's the previous owners who are searching for GT6s today. rebuilding and restoring them to conditions that far exceed what the Triumph factory produced. Other enthusiasts are building GT6s into vintage road racers and autocross cars. For first-time restorers. a GT6 makes an ideal restoration project. Besides the fact that nearly every body panel. trim part and mechanical component is readily available from a variety of sources throughout the United States and Great Britain. they are simple to work on. The separate body and chassis design allows the body to be lifted off easily. while the backbone-style chassis can be carried by one person; this allows an individual to move it around without needing help. which is very desirable when working solo. The outriggers on the chassis are notorious rust spots. but replacement outriggers are available and are easily welded in place. The body is where most of the problems lie. Severe corrosion takes hold in the floor pan. inner and outer rocker panels. rear valance panel. trunk floor and the lower section of the front bulkhead.
