It is an ideal driver quality car as it is in good running condition with a tidy appearance. decent seats and top. It is currently titled. registered and insured. Two keys and a file of receipts (over $12k) are present. This Triumph is for sale because the owner (of 22 years) would like to see the car get driven and enjoyed by someone else since he just isn't driving it enough. It has been serviced and maintained by a local British car specialist. Recently. Chris at our shop. Foreign Accents tuned it. set up the carbs and looked the car over prior to us offering it for sale. He did a few minor repairs. but in general this Triumph was found to be in good condition. The engine runs great and is peppy for a 4 cylinder. For those who are interested. the engine number is TS28620E. Based on internet research. it seems to be original. however it was overhauled in 1999 - which is probably why it runs so well and has good power. The maintenance records present are from 1992-2014. It has always been an occasional use vehicle. believed to have only been driven about 6k miles in the last 22 years. The only receipt with mileage listed is from an oil change in August of 2000 showing 65. 66. The current mileage is 67. 28 so that math makes sense. This Triumph is 50 years old and has a 5 digit odometer. it is exempt from mileage reporting. but it is possible that the mileage is actual. especially since it has covered so few miles in the last 22 years. This car was originally in Florida. making it always a Southern car which accounts for the body being solid. Many items have been ordered & replaced over the years in addition to service & maintenance. 1997 was a big year for this car as it got a cosmetic makeover including an all over re-spray. new interior panels. seat covers. floor mats. Michelin tires etc. The top was replaced later. The records are included for the next owner. but anyone with specific questions about work performed over the years is welcome to contact us. The biggest work orders in the folder were for a brake system overhaul; carb rebuild; new blower motor; front end rebuild; engine overhaul. As stated. overall this TR4 is in good condition and does not need to be restored in order to begin driving and enjoying it. But it is a 50 year old car. so here are some items we noted that could be addressed: The battery box has surface rust; the engine oil cap is obviously a radiator cap (it does the job but doesn't look right) There is some rust around the door sill plates in both doors. the finish on the wood portion of the dash is peeling. the radio is installed but does not function. the steering wheel is beginning to deteriorate. the mirror mounted on the driver door is gone. there is an oil leak from the engine (it is a British car after all. ) An expert could probably pick the car apart and find lots of details to attend to. but the big picture is here. The car has a title. starts. runs. drives. looks good and is a lot of fun. RIGHT NOW. We specialize in imports and sell to the US and worldwide.
