Description for Triumph Spitfire 1974

This car starts, runs, and drives but really is a prime candidate for a restoration. PROS: J-type overdrive from 1980 Spitfire works great and has new inhibitor switch, 3 piece clutch kit and new pilot bushing have less than 200 miles on them. Nice 8-spoke alloy wheels. Strong engine that starts up and runs well. No overheating. Very little rust. New mechanical/vacuum advance distributor with Allison XR700 infrared ignition and TWO spare modules. Rebuilt (by me) Stromberg CD150 carb with manual choke. New brake master cylinder, pads and front rotors. Rebuilt clutch master cylinder. Neither cylinder leaks now and both clutch and brake system work properly. New water pump. Newer battery (about a year old). Electronic (1980 model) tachometer. New leaf spring that hasn't even settled in yet. Passenger seat is included but not shown in photos. (Both seats have new covers from years ago and have barely been sat on. SPARE 1500cc engine from a 1980 model. Boxes of new and used parts including SU HIF 1.75" carb (in parts) with manifold to fit Spitfire. All new u-joints. Drain plug added to rear end and new bearings and seals installed. Two spare doors. One spare boot lid. Set of original wheels/center caps with tires. New carpet set that hasn't been installed minus one panel that the mice ate!
CONS: Synchros are bad in tranny. Still shifts and stays in gear but it needs new bearings and synchros to be right. Paint is a mess on the firewall from brake fluid leakage long before I owned it. Wiring harness is a mess and needs replaced during restoration though everything works most of the time at the moment. Lights, gauges, wipers, heater fan, warning lights and ignition all work. Horn does occasionally.
Summary - This is my sixth Triumph and would be an easy restoration IF I had the space and time to do it. I don't. Also, after having a hip replaced last year, it's time for me to let some of my projects go.
