Description for Triumph TR 3 1962
1962 Triumph TR 3 A Roadster
This is a better TR 3 than I thought when I first bought it. I did find some rust on the underside and it had some rust bubbles on both lower front fenders. We had Steve clean up the fenders and he came up with the idea of installing black stripes so he didn’t have to match the yellow and it looks good. Looks to be actual miles of 61,000, but I have no way of knowing for sure? It was red and is now yellow. The soft top is in very good condition. I don’t think it has been on in a very long time and it has shrunk. It needs hot sun, but are you ever going to drive it in the rain??? Looks to be the original tonneau cover. Recent new tires, generator and voltage regulator. Looks to me that the bumpers have been re-chromed as they are like new. Runs good. Andrew drove it back to the Clubhouse about 40 miles. Everything works, even the heater. 1991 cc straight-4 engine. 4 speed transmission. We got the engine hand crank with it, if you’re into that. Original tool kit. Looks to be a very old service manual and some other things. We had to order a new hydraulic clutch slave and Joe, at Old School Garage, installed it when he did the service and safety check. Joe also found the rear axel seals were leaking, so new seals, wheel cylinders and brake shoes were installed. Joe worked on it but it’s hard starting when cold. Had the original carpets and Andrew ordered a new set from Moss and installed them. It looks much better. Now it’s ready to drive and enjoy. Cond. # 2-.
