Description for Triumph Other 1965
**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE AD LISTING PAGE TO VIEW A COMPLETE SET OF DETAILED PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE**Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this extremely early TR4A convertible. This car was produced in early January of 1965 and is the 6th production car available to the public to leave the factory. The first 5 cars produced, # CTC 50001-CTC 50005, were factory prototypes. The first production car was # CTC 50006. Quick research reveals that an earlier chassis than this one isn't known. The earliest 4A listed in the Triumph Registry is car # CTC 50035. This car left the factory in a rare and attractive color scheme of black on black with wire wheels. This car was recently purchased from the state of Virginia from a long term Triumph car collector. The body on this car is decent and very restorable but has some needs. There is some rust along the top of the rear tonneau area inside of the fenders, some in the boot floor, lower LH door, bottom LH front fender, battery box, inner rockers. The front of the floors have had some previous repair. The inner wings, front and rear, look excellent with nice hood and trunk fit. The car has had a small bump in the trunk lid lower boot area. The trunk lid could use replacement. The car's chassis is excellent and straight but needs the typical trailing arm area repair, on both sides, but especially on the LH leg. The rear chassis extensions need repair or replacement. The car still retains it's correct early engine block #CT50070E and correct early body tag. The engine is disassembled for rebuild but looks pretty much complete with all the extra boxes included. The engine block has been installed in the car for shipping purposes. The speedometer and tachometer are absent, the seats aren't the originals.Overall, a historically important early TR4A that is quite possibly the earliest known surviving car of this Triumph model. This car retains all of it's matching numbers components and would make a fabulous restored car in it's rare factory color scheme.
