Description for Triumph Spitfire 1974

1974 Spitfire with Chevy 350 small block engine, 350 turbo transmission, and 9 inch Ford rear end!
approximately 70,000 miles on body, low miles on engine
Engine is an early 70's or so, 010 casting # 350;t-350 automatic Transmission;9 inch Ford rear end.
- coil over 4-point rear link 9 inch Ford Rear End.
- Coil over front suspension
- 5 lug wheels all around
- 4 wheel disk brakes (Ford disk brakes in rear)
- Entire back 2/3 of the car has a professionally fabricated frame to handle the torque of the engine.
- New headers and new water pump.
- Oil cooler
- All gauges working
- Battery relocated to trunk
- Rust free body- Roll bar- Smog free for California!
Interior is in good condition. (Small tear on passenger door panel) It does not have a top. Wipers work but it needs a wiper motor. There is a small oil leak off the rear engine seal. Drivers door outside latch not working (this is a common problem). Has a small exhaustleak between header and collector on right side. Paint is in good condition, but has normal wear and tear with some small rock chips, etc. Windows roll up and down and have glass in them. (Note, I took the pictures when I had the air filter off the car. It normally sticks up through the hood just slightly.)
Car starts and runs great. I don't know the rear end gear ration but it runs approximately 3500 RPM at 85 miles an hour. No shimmies or shakes. Stops well and straight. However, it is running rich. Currently has a Demon race carb on it. (I'm not a carb guy, but believe it simply has too much carb on it.) I am including a Demon street carb 625 which can be installed and my carb buddies say is the right carb for it. It has a full frame under the car which the 4-link rear end is bolted up to in order to handle the torque.

As the car is a 1974 with extensive modifications it is not perfect but has everything there you need. Happy to answer questions. I drive the car regularly, but it does need to have the carb dealt with, exhaust leak fixed (this will require jacking the car up and I don't have the facilities), door latch fixed, and other miscellaneousitems you would expect of a car of this year and with these mods. This will make a great little road racer for the person who wants to dial it in.
This vehicle is also available locally so I reserve the right to end the sale at any time and cancel the bids.
