Description for Triumph TR3 1960

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this attractive red/bklack TR3A that was just purchased from it's older, long term owner from the state of New York. This car was cosmetically restored and actually had some history racing at Lime Rock at one point, according to the seller. Some evidence of that is it's widened rear wheel set, lower stance, and a roll bar that was just unbolted and removed. Also, the car has been fitted/upgraded with a slightly later "CT" prefix TR-4 2.2 Liter engine as part of it's competition build. The body on this car is very decent with good closing panels. There's some minor rust showing on the RH rear dogleg area and also underneath in that area. Also a few very minor bubbles down low, here and there, on some exterior panels. Paintwork is attractive and glossy, but is showing some age with some hairline cracking in a few spots. Brightwork is very good. The car's interior is trimmed with vinyl seats. The interior is showing it's a bit older and could use some light easy improvements. The softop is in decent shape. The car also includes a nice, black, hood stick boot. The trunk is carpeted and looks nice. The car's engine starts easily on the key with good oil pressure and no smoke. Clutch and brakes are up and seem fine. The car drives well with a typical tight steering box. The front tires appear older but the rears appear fine. The engine compartment has been blackened. The car's underside shows some weakness/rust-through in the driver's floorboard, an easy fix. The underchassis was undercoated for protection at some point, and now seems to be peeling off. A chassis detail could be in order some point down the road. The chassis itself appears excellent, being solid and straight. The car includes some pictured boxes of spare parts.Overall, an attractive and good driving TR3A in nice colors that could use some future improvements. It's sensibly and modestly priced right now to use, enjoy, and have some immediate fun with.
