Description for Triumph TR7 1979

Reducing fleet of ten British classics. Have receipts for almost $25,000 worth of mechanical restoration/service work on the car. This work includes engine rebuild, clutch, brakes, new radiator, tires, exhaust system, coolant hoses, electrical systems etc. Professional paint work on the car was $7,000 (PPG Mercedes Benz platinum blue). Approximately $3,500 in new interior from Rimmer Brothers in UK. Have clear California title.

Modifications to Original Car. This was one of a collection of nine TR7/TR8s and decided to depart from original specs in the following ways:

· Installed 1980 double bump bonnet

· Installed 1981 badging

· Installed Moto Lito wooden steering wheel

· Installed wood dash/ashtray facia

· Installed leather shift knob and updated door lights (originals included)

· Installed TR8 alloy wheels

· Departed from original paint color/trim (white w/tan interior)

New Within Last 60 days. Installed new tires, exhaust system, coolant and heater hoses, and fuel pump. The blue plaid interior is no longer available; I'm including an extra set of new blue plaid seating surfaces with the car to replace the current seats if they wear out in the future. I've done everything possible to make this 40 year old car as reliable and enjoyable as it can be.

Mechanically. Car starts, drives and stops as you would expect for a car with this level of renovation/service; there are no known problems.

Under the car. As part of the new paint job (10 years ago) the underside of the car was protected with "stone guard" which protects the underside surfaces but is thin enough that there is no doubt about the integrity of the body panels. I've cleaned the underside of the car.

What's the car worth? A good starting place is to look at the Hagerty Valuation Guide (https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/search/auto) on line. While the car is not a #1 concours, it is a strong #2 car with the bonus that it has been mechanically sorted out and has substantial upgrades. The mechanic on the car for the last seven or eight years is Mel of Mel's Auto Repair in San Marcos California (760-591-0311 https://www.yelp.com/biz/mels-auto-repair-british-car-repair-san-marcos); he gets most of the Jaguar and Triumph clubs' business in San Diego.

Warranties. The new exhaust system and recent work on the car are warrantied for one year. Beyond that, the car has no other warranties expressed or implied and the car is being sold "as is, where is”.

The reserve is set at $7,500.
