Description for Triumph TR-6 1976
1976 Triumph TR6 ONE OWNER SURVIVOR FINAL YEAR TR6 ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER, SERVICE BOOKLET, RECORDS ONLY 54,200 MILES FROM NEW ORIGINAL MIMOSA YELLOW PAINT & BLACK INTERIOR COMPLETE ANSA EXHAUST, KONI SPORT SHOCKS VIN: CF50683U Engine: #40856 (Original 2.5L Straight-6) Color: Mimosa Yellow (64) Trim: Black (11) Build Date: October 1975 We purchased this fantastic '76 TR6 from the original owner in Maryland, where the car had remained since new. We truly cannot recall ever seeing such an original, well-preserved TR6; this car is one in a million. The original owner was... a genuine enthusiast and kept the car completely stock with the exception of a couple driveability improvements...Koni sport shocks all around, as well as an AMAZING complete ANSA exhaust. The car sounds incredible, and drives better than a 40-year-old British roadster ever should. No panels have ever been removed or resprayed; this car retains its original paint throughout. Seats wore thick sheepskin covers throughout their whole life and, as a result, are in great shape despite having never been reupholstered. The car will come with all sorts of documentation, including the original window sticker from Berger Motor Cars of Baltimore ($6,160), the original service handbook with owner info and dealer service stamps, and service records throughout the years. As it sits now, this car is in need of nothing other than a new owner who will use and enjoy it. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up and under direct sunlight. - Original paint throughout, as confirmed with an elcometer. There are a number of spots with little dabs of touch-up, but no panels have ever been resprayed, removed, or damaged. Color is Mimosa Yellow, and suits the car beautifully. We had the car gone-over by a paintless dent repair expert, so while there are some touched-up door chips, the car is free of dents or dings. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Lights and signals are all functional. - Original wheels are in nice shape and while the car now wears a set of polished trim rings, the original trim rings will also come with the car. Kelly Charger Tires are in nice shape as well, with no dryness or significant wear. Original matching full-sized spare is in the trunk as well. Spare well is bone dry and complete with wooden center piece. - No bubbling on the body panels. Totally dry and rust free. Extremely impressive. This car has been babied since the day it was new. The original owner repeatedly referred to it as his "first wife" through our many conversations about his long history with the car. - Weatherstripping is excellent throughout. No tired or dry rubber to be found on this car. - Original soft top, tonneau cover, and the boot cover all fit perfectly and button up with ease. No punctures or tears. Interior: - Original walnut dash fascia, if you could even believe it! No significant signs of age. No discoloring, peeling, fade, etc. Super impressive. Dash top shows no cracks, scuffs, or damage of any kind. Again, please defer to the close-up photos. Original carpet - Seats have never been reupholstered and are in great shape. There's a spot on the driver's outer bolster that had been covered by duct tape as a protective measure, and because of that there is a slightly visible tape line on the bolster. The car will come with an awesome set of very thick black sheepskin seat covers, which the original owner put on the car when he brought it home in 1976. When we removed them to take photos, it was the first time they'd been off since the 70s! Tiny bits of wear on the driver outer bolster, but aside from that, interior is fantastic. - Gauges are all functional and accurate. Odometer reads 54,170ish and is accurate based on known history from new and excellent unrestored condition. - Sony radio is functional and sounds great. Heat and blower are functional. Mechanical / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. The car is rock solid underneath. The car was undercoated when new, and it has served its purpose. No through rust or anything even close to it. - The car runs and drives phenomenally well. Without contest one of the most fun-to-drive cars we've had come through the doors in recent years. The sound from the ANSA exhaust is intoxicating and really sets this car apart from the rest. Raspy and racey, with pops and cracks on deceleration. It starts right up first turn, idles cool and dead steady with no excessive vibration or weird tendencies, pulls hard through the gears, shifts nice and smoothly, has excellent clutch feel, tight, direct steering, and well-balanced, predictable handling. No shakes, rattles, or other noises or tendencies of concern. The car tracks straight down the road, and brakes straight and effectively. Truly one of the good ones. Buy with confidence. - In addition to all the original manuals and window sticker, the car will come with a handful of service records through the 80s and early 90s. These include the replacement of the brake master, clutch master and slave cylinder, upper wishbone bushings, steering rack, rack mounts and bushings, distributor cap and rotor, tie rod ends, fuel sending unit, charcoal canister, and carburetor rebuilds.
