Description for Triumph TR-6 1976
Motor and trans pull strong. O/D works as it should along with all electrical components (headlight switch can be a little finicky but has never failed me). Carbs upgraded to SU (stock Zenith Stromberg are not in my possession and not included with sale). Dual Monza exhaust and roll bar. Two months ago I drove to Six-Pack Trials in St. Louis and participated in daily driving events. This LBC got me there, back and around town!Previous owner spent over $3,700.00 on various parts and repairs between 2015 - 2018. Last summer I spent over $2,300.00 having drive line updated/repaired which included balancing drive shaft, new rear seals and bearings, U-Joints replaced, differential disassembled, inspected, cleaned, and new mounts installed.
For a shade tree mechanic, I am aware of a couple of fun, simple jobs to do this winter aside from polishing and tinkering. They include replacing the master brake cylinder (part goes with sale, brakes currently unreliable which makes the car unsafe for road use so please plan to bring a trailer) and carb rebuild. It's possible I might get the master cylinder swapped out prior to pick-up, but no guarantee. Radio has never worked and I've never cared enough to fix it - prefer to listen to the melodious exhaust notes while up shifting, downshifting or motoring down the road. Odometer shows 36,xxx miles, but title reflects rollover to 136,xxx. Note one photo shows light paint scrapes on passenger side which occurred a couple of months back when I was not paying close enough attention while pulling out of the garage and made contact with a flower pot. Ugh.
No warranty express or implied. This is a 43 year-old car in driver condition (not a trailer queen but has won an award or two in local car shows) made in England with requisite oil leaks and a driving experience akin to the late 1970s, which in this case is a blast of a top-down motoring experience. All sales are final, so please ask questions and/or conduct any inspections prior to placing a bid or purchasing. I take pride in having an impeccable eBay rating and expect the trend will continue after this transaction is complete.
