1963 Volkswagen 23 Window Bus

Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1963

I recently inherited this from my father. He owned this bus for 15 years. Always kept in the garage in Texas. He moved it to TN a year ago and just started a restoration on it. The bus ran up until the disassembly started.
I have had a few local people check out the bus and they agree that it is in really good shape. It does appear that there was some restoration done to it a very long time ago, efore my father purchased it.
The engine is not original. My father swapped out the engine right after he bought it. I don't know any details about the engine. I have included a picture of it and I remember my dad saying that the bus would 'really get up and go' with it.
All of the parts are labeled and bagged including the ash tray and clock. All of the windows are intact. Luggage rack does appear to have a couple of the feet broken.
There are a few places that I see bubbles under the paint. There is surface rust on the front safari windows.
I have not found any of the inside panels nor the headliner. If I find them I will include them in this auction, ut it should be assumed they are gone.
The rear bumper has had significant welding done to it to repair a crack.
I am no vw bus expert but I will answer any questions the best I can or take any other pictures that are needed. I cannot make any guarantees about this bus, r your ability to restore it, o your research before you bid. I will not transport this bus, am selling it as is where is. I will accept cash or wire payment.
