Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1972

This 1972 Volkswagen Beetle is a neat hybrid that combines a sleek California custom look with an assortment of upgrades to make a Bug that's a blast to drive and looks like no other. It offers high-quality workmanship all out of proportion to its price tag and definitely delivers on the fun its outrageous looks promise.VW experts will quickly spot the fact that this isn't a 1972 Volkswagen, ot the body shell at least. It's a 1957 Beetle body on a 1972 chassis, ombining the fantastic oval-window early Beetle look with the upgrades that came a decade or two later. Of course, he screaming orange paint, aked stance, nd subtle body mods take it a few steps farther away from stock, ut that's a big part of this Bug's appeal. Finish quality is remarkably good, articularly for an affordable Beetle, nd the bright finish works rather well on the endearing rounded shape. Beetle fans will quickly spot the folding Webasto sunroof with black canvas lid, he modified engine cover designed to offer better cooling, s well as the visor over the windshield that gives it a period look. The rest of the 1957 details remain intact, rom the cool little horn grilles under the headlights to the small taillights and sculpted tail panel. And chrome bumpers really set it all off beautifully. The first thing you'll notice inside is a set of supportive black buckets, hich were definitely not on the menu in 1957. Remarkably, owever, hey look right at home in this Beetle, hich keeps all its original flavor inside. There's a simple dashboard with a full array of auxiliary gauges neatly installed around the factory speedometer as well as a funky retro steering wheel. The center of the dash is filled with an AM/FM/CD/DVD head unit with Bluetooth and USB and a simple control panel for the balance of the car's functions, ncluding the HVAC, hich is a cool little fan down by your knees. The 4-speed manual transmission will feel familiar to anyone who has driven a Bug, lthough the shifter on this one seems a little tighter than most and adds to the sporty feel of the car. Nicely made door panels, illet hardware, nd a fully carpeted former back seat area, hich is now a massive trunk with a pair of powerful speakers in custom enclosures. The forward-mounted trunk is pretty stock, nd includes a full-sized spare, ust in case. The air-cooled flat four is a bit more robust than your usual VW powerplant, nd has been punched out to 1835cc and inhales through a pair of 40mm Weber carbs. Inside, here are 90.5 pistons and stainless valves and it's fed by an electric fuel pump. It's neatly painted to match the bodywork and dressed with plenty of chrome dress-up, ncluding the louvered firewall in back. It runs superbly and moves the lightweight bodywork with genuine gusto. The lowered stance looks awesome and doesn't kill ride quality, hanks to the later chassis components, ll of which are in good condition. Sway bars have been added at both ends to sharpen up the handling and this Beetle also offers front disc brakes, worthwhile upgrade. Chrome Minilite style wheels are an awesome look and wear staggered 165/80/15 front and 225/60/15 rear blackwall radials.Documented with a stack of receipts, his neat little Bug is a lot of fun to drive and has a custom look that will get attention all out of proportion to its sticker price.
