Description for Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 1968
Thanks for checking out "Hans" as he is an amazing little 1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, ne of the last years of the small light Ghias. When Ferdinand Porsche was approached to build the VW's, o one new the impact these Bugs, hia's and Transporters would have all over the world, hat a design, hat a car, he "Peoples Car". This little Ghia is in great shape, ery sound body, uns like a dream, ust turn the key and he fires right up. I don't know what it is about Hans, ut every time I see him, just want to take him out for a stroll, ets just say he gets plenty of exercise! It is a very nice car, nd even better behind the wheel. You have know idea how many looks he gets, very were I take him, omeone always wants to look at him. The body is in very nice condition no signs of any major accidents, lean inner tubs, nner fender wells, have had the spare tire out and trunk liner out, nd aprons, nd inside the nose very clean with no hits. He has nice paint, ery clean, ery straight, e was repainted about 15 years ago. The car has some minor chips that have been touched up, ery minor, aint is very nice for a driver, ut you would take him to any show and have a great time. The original pan is in decent shape, o signs of accidents. There are a few spots with a little rust, hat if you wanted to in the future, ave these areas repaired, or a VW though they are pretty minor and most people wouldn't bother, t is to be expected. This car has been driven, nd enjoyed, ith his fresh engine, e has a new lease on life, o just drive it, how it, nd enjoy the little guy.The drive train in this car is awesom, ans runs like a little sewing machine. The 1600cc engine was rebuilt just last year, ith only 1,000 miles on it, lutch was replaced as well. Just had a valve adjustment as well. The engine runs great, dles nicely, s really has a lot of power for a car like this. It does not blow any smoke or burn oil, as a couple minor oil drips when it sits, ut think it is coming from the transmission again very minor, aybe a small drip or 2 over the weekend. The original 4spd transmission shifts very nice, lutch feels great, ll the gears feel very smooth. This little guy is very fun to drive, e gets a lot of looks. The brakes work great, o pulling stops nice and straight. The emergency brake works as well. The wheels do have trim rings on them, akes them look a little more flashy. The hubcaps are original as well, nd look nice. The tires are in very good shape, nd have about 95% tread on them. It has porta-walls on it currently which give it that whitewall look, ou can take them off easily if you want a black wall tire.
Mechanically Hans runs great.
The interior is in very nice condition, eats look great, ery clean, oor panels are excellent. It is a NON Smoker, nd is very pleasant inside. The carpet looks very nice, ery little wear on the inside, eadliner is in nice condition. All the gauges work, he interior lights work, ery clean dash area. Factory radio is in it, ut not currently working. All the interior lights work, ery clean inside, tays nice and dry as well. All the dash lights work. The horn works, ipers work as well. I love hoping in this car and taking it out on a spin, ust feels great sitting inside, nd cruising him. All the exterior lights are working as well, urn signals, rake lights etc.
