Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1976
Loaded Commercial VW Volkswagen Bus Westfalia Essen Trailer Combo!Very honest and clean 1976 commercial bus. It is a Canadian spec bus with a BA6 Eberspacher, .0L FI motor, are 70 amp alternator M-Code package for the BA6. Ive added the full length VWoA roof rack, lock and the rare headlight washers (not hooked up).
The body is very straight and not all banged and dented as you see most work hoarse buses like this. When I painted it all I did was sand it - that's how straight those panels are - as see by the lack of dents from the inside. The interior including the front floor only has surface rust in spots as seen from worn paint with the only true rust seen mainly in the rockers outer skin only. There is also a spot at the rear right by the inspection hole. At one point the bus had a smack at the rear left and was bondo repaired - no rot or holes that I can find. That for the most part is the extent of the bad. Everything else is good.
If I were to keep her, d pull the motor, eplace all the seals I could on the long block, lean it up and put it back in. The motor drives great. It just looks the way I got it, irty. The bus drives amazingly fast as there is no real weight to it empty and has that 2.0 FI pushing it. Empty you can go up hills in third no problem. All the steering is tight and the brakes work well. Newish proper load rated tires on powdercoated stock rims in a stock color. They come with hub caps not seen in the pic.
The dash is all correct and unmolested - sweet with no cracks or stupid hacks from previous owners. The seats are super nice and an improvement over stock - and are not the originals. I recently redid the door cards with new board and covered the speaker holes with black leatherette - see the driver.
Extras that make it all the more cool:
1) that clock - cant have a delivery vehicle unless you know what time it is and when you will be there.
2) that BA6 Eberspacher Gas Heater - fully working 100% - even the thermostat! - when is the last time you saw or had the chance to own a bus with the most expensive add on VW offered? Belly pan included and will be installed - just not on in the pic. You will never be cold in this bus with a BA6 - ever, nywhere.
3) Full length Volkswagen of America Roof Rack - you can throw a 4x8 sheet of ply up there - fits perfectly inside and have a Mai-Tai party on the upper deck.
4) Headlight washer system. Even though its not hooked up Ill give you most the parts to make it work. Your choice to follow through or sell the parts.
5) Middle seat with clamps - this is one of those Items people are asking stupid money for by themselves now a days. Keep it in the bus to drive friends around or take it out and sell it for millions - your choice.
6) Westfalia trailer hitch - One of the most sought after accessories in Bay Bus land. This is a correct Bay Window Westfalia Trailer Hitch - wired all up and ready for a Euro spec trailer, hich leads me to.........
7) Comes with the 1978 Westfalia trailer - how sick is that? See the trailer ad separate for details - if this combo does not sell here - it will sellseparate- if you want just one or the other - let me know and we will make arrangements.
