Rare opportunity first time offered for sale since June 1999. 1967 Deluxe Beetle sedan. The VWmuseum in Germany confirmed that the Engine in this car serial # HO 556 970 is the matching numbers original engine. This car is original paint code L 620 Savanna Beige, he paint is original except the hood and both rear fenders have been resprayed. It has the original correct beige running boards, eige fender welting, hrome trim on front and rear windshield gaskets, orrect sapphire 5 radio, orrect window cranks, his car has never spent a day in its life outside overnight. I dont think its ever been in rain. The car was produced on December 29, 966 and shipped to the US on January 2, 967. The original owner was a retired school teacher from Barbersville, V who bought the car from Wurts & Bailey Inc VW in Ashland, entucky in March 1967. The car was undercoated when new and was not driven in winter. The retired teacher moved to Melbourne, lorida shortly thereafter. By Feb 1977 the car had 29,101 miles. (I have service records from 1974 only). The original owner sold the car to the second owner in May 1991 when she quit driving she owned the car 24 +years. The second owner purchased the car in May 1991 with 38,000 miles on it. He reluctantly sold the car to the third owner in November 1995. I bought it in Titusville, lorida in June 1999 and moved it to Indiana in 2002. It has been stored in a heated garage since then, ever driven in rain, ever after November. It has been retgularly driven and properly/lovingly maintained during my ownership. There is no rust on this car. I have included some pictures of the underside showing some of the undercoating has come off but no rust in the floor pans or original running boards. The battery has always been in a liner and the battery tray is solid. Note the original colored keyed tan running boards. The chrome bumpers are all original and have not been replated. I have included some closeup pics. The seats are the original upholstery, here are no rips or tears. the car smells like an original VW inside. Original headliner. I have replaced the sunvisors and door armrests as they were deteriorated bfut I have the originals. The documented original engine has been out of the car once to replace a first to second gear synchro by a fanatical German mechanic and a new engine rear main seal and clutch were done at the time for precautionary reasons only. I have replaced the front and rear and rear side window rubber gaskets. The car presently has a pertronix eletronic ignition module/hotter coil installed for reliability but it is disguised to look original. This car has never been professionally detailed. It starts runs drives, hifts and stops excellent. It does not smoke or use any oil. It does have the typical VW slow minor engine and drive train oil leaks. I did a compression test 2 years ago with engine cold plugs out throttle open and all 4 cylinders were above 130. You are encouraged to come inspect the car in person.
