Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1958
Thank you for looking at this low mileage, b>second owner, /b>1958 Volkswagen. Originally this car was purchased by a Virginia attorney to use as for commuting a short distance to work five days a week. Upon retiring the car was parked in his garage until he passed away.
So, ith 55,800 original miles on the car it sat, ucked away in the garage for almost 40 years. The original floorpans are intact and in excellent condition. The original engine is tuned up and runs excellent. Sitting, ven in dry storage takes a toll on vehicles, o some restoration was necessary to make things like new again. This includes Glacier Blue lacquer paint (which was original car color and paint type), ew window rubber, ew window felt tracks, ew weather-stripping, ew correct "mouse hair"headliner, ew upholstery, ew carpet, nd new runningboards with new rubber, ew chrome bumpers, nd new tires.
Brakes and tune-up were done by a retired Volkswagen mechanic. New European oak strips were used to restore the original VW marked roof rack. As pointed out by a friend who is more of a VW enthusiast then we are, he original 4 tab hood and the original snow flake taillights are still in good shape. Restoration was completed a few years ago but there have only been seven miles put on it, b>mileage now 55,807. It is stored inside. Cranked and moved regularly. . Grandson wants it but the car would sit for 8+ more years. Time for someone to enjoy it
Original paperwork including original owners manual (missing cover) and original service booklet. If I've forgotten anything that you would like to know, uestions are welcomed.
