Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1958

Classic 1958 VW convert restoration project. Nearly complete vehicle that appears to have about 1200 miles since the last Colorado vehicle inspection in 1976. Was last driven about 1 year ago and was barely drivable with a very weak 36 hp engine. Since then the engine has been replaced with a 1958 36 hp engine that runs but unfortunately is just as weak with a knock that perhaps is valve adjustment or perhaps worse. Not currently drivable due to a broken accelerator cable. Overall pretty much stock and complete - parts noticed to be missing are the horn button, H sun visor, pare wheel (there is a tire), nd the aft part of the engine baffling around the main pulley. 6 volt electrical system with a lot of disconnected wiring - may need a wiring harness. There is rust with the heaterchannels needing replacement and there are bolted in patch panelson the floors behind both seats. Spare tire well is not too bad but there are signs of somewhat repaired crash damage to the front apron and the LH side of the hood. There are several dents in the driver's door that don't photograph too well. Extra holes are present above the taillights on both rear fenders and not really sure if any of the fenders are original. Upholstery is mismatched and in bad shape and the floor has mats only no carpeting. Top is vinyl and in pretty good shape but was told it could be off a newer bug. All glass is installed. Thewheels are 15" with roller tiresthat all appear to have come from different cars and 2ea of the tires are snow tires. Odometer reads about 84,800 miles which could be actual. Probably worth restoring but is beyond my capabilities. Auction is for the pictured item only - there may be some small extra parts that will be included but nothing comes to mind now.
