1979 VW BUS WESTFALIA DELUXE CAMPER
Available for sale is my excellent condition 1979 Westfalia Deluxe camper. This is not a restored bus but an extra well kept over the years Westfalia 95% original and free of rust. 68,000 original miles. I got this bus from the original owner who purchased it brand new from the VW Dealer in Harbor City, A. back in 1979. It has a clear California title still being "pink slip", urrent registration, riginal camper and bus booklets and a very hard to find original Dealer's window sticker showing all the extra and standard options available.
What makes this bus so special and set apart from others is the fact not being restored, es you can easily find restored buses around but this one is in close condition to the day it left the dealership meaning the bus condition is mostly original except for a great exterior respray in its original Mexico Beige color. You have to see it in person and drive it to fall in love.
EXTERIOR:
Body is super straight, ever been in an accident and 99% rust free. All windows including the front one are VW original with no chips nor cracks. All seals present and in great condition, o water leaks at all. Front windows rolls up and down with easy, ront vent windows with locks, iddle windows have screens. All lights including blinkers and reverse working as it should as well as horn. Brand new tires including spare. Original hubcaps and aluminum rings. All doors open and close easily with no effort and are 100% aligned. Exterior respray in original Mexico Beige color, aint in great condition and very well done job. Pop top in great condition. One key for all locks.
INTERIOR:
95% original interior except for the front seats upholstery and radio. Laminated material in superb condition for all cabinets except for the one that covers the spare tire. This bus has the Deluxe camping equipment with mini fridge, ink and range (dual stove), all to wall carpeting super clean and always been covered with another carpet on top, ining table, aisable pop top with bed cushions and rear bench that converts to double bed. All plaid original upholstery material with some normal discoloration to the rear cushion. Front cabin very clean with black dashboard in excellent condition, o rips or tears. Original door panels. Original canvas for the pop top.
Original headliner vinyl all around.
In other words, nterior is awesome !!!!!!!
ENGINE:
It has the factory 2.0 liter air cooled engine in excellent running condition. Motor was refurbished 4000 miles keeping all original components like fuel injection system, tc. This bus is ready to go cross country and will pass CA smog check emissions at any time.
Engine area is very clean and the bus has a dual battery system. Engine is super quiet and starts at any time at the first try.
TRANSMISSION:
Manual transmission in great condition, t shifts nice and soft in all gears with no weird noises at all. The shifting is like factory new.
SUSPENSION:
I've been around buses all my life and this is one of the softest rides I ever drove. Steering has no play and brakes stops on a dime.
It is really a blast to drive this bus around town or taking freeways. Nothing to do, eplace or fix.
This bus is a collectors dream due to its well preserved and original condition over the years. Even if you have not owned a Volkswagen before you will fall in love as soon as you take the chance to drive it around and go to car shows or camping.
An unrestored bus in this great general condition is not easy to find these days.
