ExteriorBody was stripped to bare metal and any rust or cancer was repaired prior to painting the car with satin black paint. Custom fiberglass wide fenders and hood complete the custom look of this car. A few minor chips in the paint can be found at the front but overall the paint is in great condition. BRM wheels up front and genuine Michele wheels in the rear. A custom and functional rag top assembly was installed at the time of bodywork. Headlamps are by Speedway Motors and custom tail light round out the rear end.InteriorA custom interior and carpeted trunk with converted high to low-back seats of an earlier design with a Sony blu-tooth deck and four Xplode speakers round out the inside. Dash paint isn’t the best but a replacement, S made dash is included with the purchase of the car. Some minor scuffs in the interior can be found from use, ostly confined to the door panels from exit.MechanicalA.J. Simms of lowbugget.com prepped the 1915cc engine with an Engle 110 cam, cat “volkstroker” forged crank, ig valve heads and higher ratio rocker arm assemblies, ahle forged pistons all installed and “accuracy honed” by A.J. Sims. Additionally, n add-on slim line oil sump, owered oil cooler with conventional filter using aircraft oil line fitments were added to the engine. The engine features powder-coated bright work tins and an A-1 “sidewinder” tuck-away exhaust system that’s also powder coated.Suspension is KYB Gas-a-just shocks with all new rear brakes and Karman Ghia front discs. All wheel and axle bearings replaced along with new CV axles. Transmission is a Rancho built “Pro-Street” with highly desirable “freeway flyer” ring and pinion which helps move the car along easily at freeway speeds.There is almost too much to list as there was a lot of time, oney and top shelf aftermarket parts put into this car.The car runs and drives very well.The upgraded engine and components give this Beetle performance to back up the hot rod looks.Window mounted car-cooler is on loan for display purposes and is not included with the purchase of this car.
