Available now is this timeless Southern California 1970 VW Poptop Westfalia.This is a beautifully solid camper that has been enjoyed and maintained over the past 45 years and is now ready for a new owner to appreciate.Refinished in its rare original factory color of Montana Red (L30H), his So Cal Westfalia is a great example of a clean drivable classic that has never been disassembled or 'restored' to brand new, t is a 45 year old vehicle with character and charm that survived the ‘70's and is perfect for someone who wants a stylish, sable investment given the rising prices of early Westfalias. It is still intact with its full original camper interior including the often missing icebox/sink unit, ront child's cot, osquito netting, old out Z- bed, loset, old out table, ear facing seat and rear cargo-net.

Inside the bus is a new original-style 3 window poptop canvas, ew period correct style plaid curtains, ew flooring and fresh upholstery front and back which makes this an awesome camper with just enough contemporary updates to give it a crisp, lean feel without detracting from its vintage character. Interior birch paneling is in beautiful condition. Outside it wears an extremely presentable re-spray of its original factory 'Montana Red' paint. This bus is a drivable, ractical camper, ot a show car, hough I would rate the paint and body an 8/10. The paint has a great shine, ery few cracks and chips visible as well as some underlying filler, s can be expected with a 45 year old VW Bus. The poptop has a great shine to it as well making this Westy truly eye catching. At some point in its life the drivers side door was swapped out, ll other panels appear factory original. The front floors are extremely solid under the mats. There is evidence of older rust-repair done in the common problem area under the bus below the nose at some point, hough no rust is visible and the repairs appear to be very solid underneath. Sighting down along the rain gutters, hey are straight and rust free. The chassis appears straight and original underneath. The bellypans and cargo floor are original and also virtually rust-free.

The engine and transmission have both been rebuilt and are in excellent working order. The engine starts and runs like a top. Dual port high compression engine built by B&R Buggy in Oceanside, A. Starts first turn and idles smoothly, evs freely with much more power than stock, aking this a very smooth, ractical driver still capable of 25+ mpg. Updated alternator conversion and an Optima cell battery provide excellent reliability for this bus. California heater-box delete done on engine for ease of maintenance, asily reversible back to stock depending on your climate (boxes not included).

The original 4-speed transmission was just professionally rebuilt by Jim's VW in San Diego within the last thousand miles for the first time in this vehicle's life and is ready for another 45 years of service. Brakes recently serviced and wheel cylinders were rebuilt as necessary. The front door locks could use some attention, hey function about 80% with the key but can be sticky, lider door lock functions perfectly. Steering has some center-play in it, onsistent with a 45-year-old bus and at some point in the future would benefit from some attention.Headlights, aillights, linkers, nterior cabin light are all in working order. Horn and ignition are aftermarket units, oth in great working order, nd can be reversed to original with ease if desired. Updated CD player stereo system with door speakers work great as well. Driving this Westy, he thumbs-ups never stop. This bus is ready for a new owner take it on the next adventure! Auction will go to the highest bidder above reserve.
