Description for Volkswagen Cabrio 1985

Up for sale is a great example of a weekend/daily driver 1985 Volkswagen Cabriolet. We have owned this vehicle for about 18 months or so and have loved it every day. The only reason we are selling is because we have a baby on the way and know this car will do nothing but sit for years and that isn't what this car should do. This is not a show car but it does look very nice as you can see from the pictures. We have taken this car on several 100+ mile trips when the weather is nice and has performed great. This has typically been a weekend toy for my wife. The vehicle runs great and we have a file of repairs that have been performed from the previous owners who had he car in their family for 15+ years. In the time we owned the vehicle I have replaced the following; alternator, attery(original alternator went bad and killed the battery), pgraded radio(tired of the tape player), lower motor/resistor, uel accumulator. Having owned several older cars I expect to do repairs regularly but this car is more reliable than my classic Mustang which I have completely rebuilt. The top is original or appears to be but does not leak unless under heavy downpours(like almost all convertibles). When I wash the car it does not leak inside. Not sure when the clutch was replaced if ever so it would probably be something to put on the list but I don't have any problems with shift or taking off so doesn't need to be done anytime soon. it has hot heat and cold A/C which was retrofitted to 134 from the old R12. Mileage should be original as the elderly couple we purchased it from used it as a weekend toy as well. Their daughter drove it in high school and college and they purchased it back when she was ready to buy a new car. The husband owned a body shop and he painted it himself in his shop behind his house. The lady reupholstered the driver seat due to some small tears on the seat. She had intended to make all the seats match but never got around to it. This is a great little convertible that will make the new owners very happy every time they look at it in their garage or take it for a spin. This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel at anytime. Deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of winning item. New owner should take possession of vehicle within 7 days or at least have arrangements in place to do so. Vehicle is garaged and will continue to be until picked up by new owner. Clean and clear Georgia title in hand. Thanks for looking and good luck.
