You are viewing, ossibly, he most accurate, rofessionally restored VW Thing in existence. I realize this is a bold claim, ut when you inspect the vehicle you can find no short cuts or open issues regarding the "no expense spared" restoration completed on this example. The work was accomplished by marque experts at The Thing Shop in Chandler, rizona, he "GO TO" place, n the World, n my opinion, for anything relating to the VW THING, ncluding parts, ervice, estoration and advice.

This 'rust free' VW, em>type 181, as totally disassembled, edia blasted, efinished inside and out in the original color, umpkin Orange. The bottom was refinished in gloss black epoxy as were all the suspension components.

The running gear has been totally rebuilt, ncluding new 1600 dual port engine, RS transaxle, xles, V joints, earings, ront suspension, hocks, uel system, tc.

The total braking system has also been addressed, ncluding both mechanical and hydraulic systems.

The hard to find, THING" specific items, are all present and accounted for, ncluding, orrect oil bath air filter, V joints, as fired heater, ool kit and jack, utside mirrors, nstruments, eat belts, riginal keys, ear shift lock, rivers' door locking cubby box, tc.

The interior was redone in tan vinyl. The top and side curtains, ith sliding plexiglass, are also in a tan textured vinyl and the fit is excellent.

This THING drives and performs like a new vehicle. Starts, tops, andles and behaves very well in town or on the road.

The buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance. Buyer to forward 10% of the total sales price within 3 days of auction close and the balance, n certified funds, ithin 10 days of close of auction. The car may remain in its present secure storage facility for an additional 30 days while the buyer makes travel and shipping arrangements.
