Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1971
Up for sale is a 1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Convertible Karmann Super Beetle. I bought the car with the intent of using it for fun. I wanted some work done on it and was depending on others to do that for me since I'm not a mechanic. That didn't work out. so as much as I hate to sell it. that's what is best this beauty. so someone can give it the TLC it deserves. Here's what I know. The car has around 93500 miles on it. The engine was rebuilt about 25. 00 miles ago. The top was replaced. but is still in need of help. It looks like an unprofessional job. I was told the brakes were rebuilt. but the parking break doesn't work well. I just took the car out of storage and after charging the battery. it started right up. Original interior is in fairly good shape. The radio is not working. The inside top around the back window and below is rough. see picts. The front seat has a few cracks. Someone put yellow floor mats in the car. but picts will show. it has the original black carpet underneath. The car needs tires. My hope was to restore it. but the car is drivable just as it is once you have new tires. The car has always been a Chicago area car. so there is rust on the underside. but nothing that can't be repaired/restored/replaced. If you have questions. please let me know. I'll do the best I can to answer them. The car sells as is. Local pick up only. I will keep the car in storage for two weeks after auction ends. Anytime past that will have to be negotiated and may require a monthly storage fee to be paid in advance. We need to discuss this PRIOR to the end of the auction and even though I will keep the car for a short period of time in storage. full payment is due within SEVEN DAYS after the auction has ended. If you think you saw this car up for auction before. you are correct. The high bidder from that auction had no money to pay for the car. so if you bid. please be serious about purchasing the car. Please don't waste my time or yours bidding for the heck of something to do. Thank you for your interest.
