Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1972

This 1972 VW Westfalia Bus took over 1 year to complete and has a lot of work put into it. California Bus with no rust and an excellent body, finished in an original Volkswagen paint code L11H Sierra Yellow and L90B Alpine White with clear coat. OriginalVW Reflex silver wheels, original restored bumpers and VW front emblem. Original door panels, new pop-top canvas with 3 zippered windows from Wolfsburg west store . All seats were taken apart and installed new padding. Basket weave offWhite seat covers and new Westfalia camper cloth Green-Red interior. We even have the original upper bunk bed and child cot!. New custom made Tommy Bahama designer courtains . Original cabinets professionally cleaned . Sink and icebox are in excellent condition. All dome lights, dash lights work. Original Saphire XI radio, original cover spare tire, original interior wooden roof (except the two smallest ones ). All Toyo tires are brand new (made in Japan) . All originalVW sides and rear windows. All new rear and windshield glass and doors rubbers. All new pop top seals and decals. The fiberglass pop top was repainted as well. It is all there!! That all sounds great but really the special thing about this bus is the mechanical side of it. The engine and transmission are in perfect condition. The Type 4 engine was also used on the Volkswagen version of the Porsche 914. Volkswagen versions originally came with an 80 horsepower (60 kW) fuel-injected 1.7-litre flat-4 engine based on the Volkswagen air-cooled engine. In Europe, the four-cylinder cars were sold as Volkswagen-Porsches, at Volkswagen dealerships. This air-cooled engine is considered the best by many. This bus runs and drives so good. The 6 ribs 091transmission from bus are so valuable to off-road vehicles with VW engines. This baby drives straight, fires right up and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. New, rebuilt engine by 20 year experienced VW mechanic. Less than 1,000 pampered miles since rebuild. This is being sold as is and I will make time for anyone to come and drive it, inspections are welcome and preferred (I just want you to love what you are getting). Please email me any and all questions. $1000 deposit is due via PayPal for any serious buyers until we can work out the details for final payment. Lastly, this bus is being sold locally and on other sights so I reserve the right to end this add early for any reason. Buyers responsibility to arrange shipping.

Also includes:

Early bay-window tent mint condition.

The floor is 6'6" by 9'8", giving plenty of room for extra cots or gear storage.

The add-on side tent underwent a complete redesign. The new model (referred to in publicity materials as an Add-a-Room tent or a Motent) superficially resembles the late Split-windshield's framed tent in general shape and colors, but is otherwise quite different. For one, the tent's frame is now external, with the canvas supported by elastic loops and plastic hooks, somewhat like a shower curtain. Instead of a single opening front panel, there is a zippered screen door in the middle of the front (side away from the bus) with a small awning flap that can be lowered for wind and rain protection. This tent also features a waterproof floor, and the attachment method on the vehicle side results in a securely closable shelter (i.e., no more gap below the bus floor).
