Description for Volkswagen Cabrio 1989
This VW Cabriolet is in perfect original condition due to meticulous maintenance, and always being stored in a garage. I bought the car from the second owner who was starting a family. The original owner was an 84 year old gentleman and I was told had the car imported from Germany. The car comes with receipts since new, and the factory manual. The speedometer reads 26,274 miles but a certified body sticker and a service receipt shows that it was replaced with 52,486 miles. The paint is glossy as new with no dings or dents - just a couple very small touched up chips/scratches.The cloth interior is very clean with no rips, tears or noticeable wear - and the headliner is clean as well. There are also no cracks in the dash. The convertible top is original and is in great condition as can be seen in the pictures, as is the boot that covers it when down. All the glass is original with factory markings. Mechanically the engine runs perfectly, the A/C is cold, the transmission shifts smoothly, and everything, including the original radio works as it should. The only exception is the digital clock in the gauge cluster. When I bought the car I replaced the power steering rack due to a small leak, I replaced the water pump and timing belt, did a complete tune up, replaced all belts and fluids, replaced shifter bushings and located a couple small interior trim parts. I had a new set of spoked wheels body color match painted, and installed a set of coil overs to slightly lower the car. The sale will include the original wheels, trim rings and hubcaps as pictured, as well as the original shocks. Buy this car with confidence, it runs as good as it looks in the pictures - which were all taken within the last week. The car is also listed locally so I reserve the right to end the listing if it is sold. If you have any questions about the car I can be reached at 239-292-2370, my name is Mark...I'm 66 and a VW fanatic.
