Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1969

Take a look at this 1969 VW Westfalia Campervan!

The bus just had a rebuilt 1776cc engine put in!

It has under 100 miles on it.

Has a forged, counter balanced, 8 dowel crank shaft, balanced fly wheel, new Mahle P&C, two rebuilt heads, balanced rods, new bearings, new Engle 110 cam, lifters as well as a new oil pump, Also has a new Solex carb, electronic ignition, and a new battery. Of course it got a new Sachs clutch kit while everything was out and the brakes were serviced and the gear oil was changed. It has a set of the BusDepot H4’s on it, and an AM/FM/CD player with 4 speakers.

The exterior is in nice shape, the bus has no rot but the paint has faded out a bit. The body is solid, and looks great but up close there is checking in the paint – though the paint is not flaking or peeling off the bus. All doors and windows work as they should and the bus is water-tight. The roof is also in good shape..

The interior is in great shape! The seats were recovered with the last owner. The material is not stock but they are also much more comfortable than stock. They have a nice deep pleat and are a thick vinyl that will be easy to keep clean. The back bench does fold down into a bed, in addition to the hammock overhead in the elevating roof. The side table, spice rack with prop table, ice chest and side closet are all there and complete. I did not test the water pump.

This bus also has it’s original Westy stool and a side canopy.

This is a great starter bus, for someone who wants the charm of a low-light bay. There is still some odds and ends work to be done, but nothing that will stop you from getting in and enjoying the bus. Remember, the more work you do over time, the more your bus will be worth! It’s appreciating faster than any of us imagined! I am happy to talk to any interested buyers, can get more photos if you want or need.
