She spent years and thousands restoring it and it is in Incredible restored shape! Careful not to let this 1978, well cared for, bus get away. They are hard to find in this Beautiful condition! This bus is concert and camp ready and cruises nice. My friends tell me these Buses all have names and this one is “Penny” named by the previous owner. It still retains its ORIGINAL POP Top with original bed in it and new canvas canopy. I have read that the “Westfalia” is the most desirable in the Campmobile line. What a value it is at the reserve price which is set very low ! Take a look at the lines on this beauty, what an amazing looking Bus. This BEAUTY is one nice driving rig and it is in AWESOME shape. I drove this bus for about a week as my everyday driver to and from the office and running errands as needed and it ran and drove nice! It is a NICE – Restored Westy Bus! This Volkswagen Westy Campmobile has a strong Rebuilt 2.0 Liter type 4 air-cooled - four cylinder motor in it and it is running well! This Bus has a heat exchanger cooling system on it I had never seen before. Basically it has a venturi tube that draws the heat out of the heat exchanger when is is not being used for heat to cool the engine. Kinda cool system, it is my understanding that this was a California ONLY Option. The engine is backed by a smooth Rebuilt four speed transmission / transaxle. The ORIGINAL interior is in NICE restored condition including, NICE ORIGINAL Brown bucket seats up front, NICE ORIGINAL Black dash, NICE ORIGINAL Style Brown carpet up front, NICE ORIGINAL White headliner, NICE ORIGINAL door panels, NICE ORIGINAL gauge cluster with oil temperature gauge, NICE ORIGINAL steering wheel. The ORIGINAL rear / Camper part of the interior is also in GREAT condition including a NICE ORIGINAL fold out bed, NICE ORIGINAL Working “Domestic” Frig, VERY NICE Original Brown rear seat / bed, NICE ORIGINAL Brown upper bed in Pop-top, lots of factory storage areas and closets, and sink with holding tank, Nice Original Stove set-up for Camp bottles of propane, wing style side windows and louvered side windows with bug screens for ventilation, Rear Hatch screen cover that snaps in to give bug protection when open, NICE wall and roof paneling and nice sliding cloth curtains throughout. This Classic VW is nicely equipped including an awesome Kenwood Digital AM FM stereo radio / CD player / MP3 player or phone input / USB port / IPOD Direct connect with two Infinity speakers mounted in doors up front and two Infinity 6X9 speakers mounted in back, working turn signals so it is legal in all the states, good heater and defroster, 110 volt household electrical plug ins, Storage cabinets original day / night rear view mirror, factory seat belts front and rear and factory dual chrome exterior mirrors. This VW Campmobile is a great running and good looking Bus for sure. It drives smooth and straight and does not wonder. I took it out on the freeway several times and it also did very well at normal freeway speeds with plenty of power. All of the light lenses and reflectors are still bright, clear and in good condition even the rubber weather-stripping is new. These vehicles have an appreciative group of owners any of which would be pleased to own this one. The suspension and drive train seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. This Classic Volkswagen Westfalia Campmobile Bus is a great investment opportunity and it is priced right! It is in good condition from top to bottom and from front to back. It will not disappoint someone looking for a clean example of a sought after and hard to find VW collector.
