Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1972
Hi Combi lovers. My name is Rafael, I am an Spanish diving instructor and tour leader who lives at Centralamerica and I am selling one of my VW buses, the Westafia Camper 1972.I have to sell it because I need the money to restore my next project, my Combi Split Crew Cab 1967 (it is in one of the pics), so I have to let her go...with sadness....but I hope to find a new owner who will enjoy her like I did or more! The van is an original version, produced in Germany, I bougth it in Mexico, in a very dry area of the country, in "Oaxaca", a place sourrended by dessert.....that´s was very good for obvious reasons: no rust at all.It was near two years ago and I used her for travelling throught the country till the caribbean Mexican coast (Tulum) where I was working for a while. The van was exported to Mexico from the United States in 1994 and I have between the documents a copy of the certificate of propierty from the state of California so I think it won´t be too dificult fo get a new title and number plates for the new owner in case the buyer is from USA, on that case I can include for free the shipping by truck till the border between Mexico and USA, at the US side in Texas.....buyers for other parts of the world: I can help you to get a good price for shipping (not included). The bus has Mexican documents, with my name in it, no legal problems or something like that, everything is in order and ready to transfer to the next owner. Now the bus is in Antigua, a very famous and touristic colonial town 20 miles away from Guatemala city and it was on this country where I restored it (a few month ago) with very profesional and specialized garage. As you can see on the pics, they retired all the parts to make a good job with painting, I must confess that it didn´t need any special work on the body because rust wastn´t present on the van. The windshield is new and every seal on the dors and windows are new too(from west coast metric), All the upholstery is brand new (front doors panels, driver, passenger, and rear seats) and the engine, a 1600 cc from a bettle, was entirely rebuild with new parts, like the clutch and the brakes. Still it needs some little work to finish the project: just to install the wood floor and panels on the rear area, before to install the furniture wich was completly restored with new laminate (it is not installed at the moment, see the pics...I didn´t have any time and more money to do it) it has the original rear bed/seat and another single bed on the roof and the table, unfortunately I don´t have the extra single rear seat and the sink cabinet, They didn´t come when I purchased her.....other thing to do is to fix the speed indicator (in miles per hour) wich is not working at the moment, I have the original canvas tent for the roof but is not in good sape so it needs a new one (it costs around 300 dollars at gowesty.com) but just this and it wil be ready to be in one exhibition show.....you must spend maybe around one thoussandt or one thoussand five haundred dollars in material and work, as much. This is a great oportunity to get a very good unit of an original Westalia Camper in very good shape rust freee wich will run for 44 years more!I don´t have to much experience as a seller on ebay, because mainly I just bougth things during years but I guess that the auction´s winner should make a initial deposit to my personal account on Citybank of one toussand dollars to be sure that´s a serious offer...about the rest of the money it depends.....buyers from USA can give me some more at the moment I put the van on a truck to deliver it till Texas and a final payment in person there....buyers from other countries: if I have to put the car on a container you should pay me all the money before the bus is on the boat.If you wanna more pics of the bus or about the documents I have just let me know and with pleasure I will send you more. If you have questions I will be to give the answers too, I gess is not easy for a potential buyer to purchase a car by internet from a guy you don´t know, in a country with a bad reputation but if you wanna come to meet me and the Combi it will be a pleasure to assist you in all the moment, from USA to fligth to Guatemala with Spirit Airlines is very easy and cheap from many US cities, Europeans should take a fligth from Iberia or Lutftansa because they are the only ones wich fligth directly till this country, I think.Good Luck
