Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1966
This auction is for a head-turning, previously-restored 1966 Volkswagen Bug. Every car has a story: The 2nd owner purchased this beauty in 1976. It has always been a California car. In 1998, it underwent a major restoration. Since that time, the car was driven sparingly, approximately 11,000 miles. I am the 3rd owner of this VW bug and have freshened it up a bit, where needed. This VW bug is in superb condition for its age: she fires right up every time, and as a daily driver, can handle freeway as well as street traffic driving conditions with ease. The interior boasts a fresh look: from the headliner/front and rear seat upholstery, to the door/quarter panels all installed during the “resto”. It also comes with the base rubber floor mats, parcel shelf and front 3-point and rear lap seatbelts for safety. All of the rubber gaskets and moldings were updated during the time of restoration as well. All of the lights, including: turn signals, brake lights, tail lights, headlights, parking lights, interior light, fuel gauge light, speedometer light, high beam indicator; emergency flashers function well and so does the horn. It even has its original jack.
As you can see in the pictures, the overall paint has a great shine to it with minimal imperfections. None take away from the overall beauty of this classic. The pan is in great shape. The VW comes with a rebuilt trans axle and a new 1600 Dual Port Engine (approximately 11K miles since resto) that provides more torque at higher speeds and more horsepower than the stock 1300. It can really get-up-and-go!
The brakes were completely updated, from the master cylinder to the drums, and all of the hard and rubber lines in between. The complete suspension was updated as well. The tires are in great shape with plenty of tread life.
This is one of the cleanest 66’s out there, so don’t miss out on a chance to own it! The car is available for inspection at any time during this auction. As this VW bug is also listed for sale locally, I reserve the right to end this auction early. The car is currently registered until October 2017. I have the “pink slip” in hand and in my name.
