Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1952
Here is your chance to own a TRUE numbers matching 1952 split. Many claim all numbers matching, but very few are, but this one is. The VIN, body number, front beam number, crash box transmission number, all 5 16" wheels, and 25hp engine number are ALL what this car came with when it was first built back in 1952. It's not a 100% correct car as far as some of the engine parts, but the parts that were changed are probably all that was available at the time they were changed out. This car is also accident free, rust free, and no signs of any sheet metal repairs are present. The car has been repainted once quite a few years ago and it's in great shape for a driver, but obviously not show quality. The interior is all original except the carpet, which was replaced with a real German square weave carpet kit from a 1955/56 model year bug some time ago. The rest of the interior is in really nice shape aside from the drivers seat, but could be left alone if you're into the survivor look. The cable brakes work awesome, all of the electrical works, the engine runs awesome and was just tuned up, the original ribbed semaphores were fully restored and just installed, the tires are a 5.00x16" Pirelli knobby that are pretty old, the pan is perfect, the hood is incorrect but the hood handle is correct, and I have the correct deck lid with popes nose, it is in one of the pictures and it will go with the car. This car has been driven very little in the last 30 years, I have an old invoice for a tune up at a shop dated 1/16/87 and at that time the mileage was 5122, and it now reads 6300 that's only 1,178 miles in 30 years, That's why the car is in such great condition. This is wonderful car that is fun to drive and it gets lots of attention, The car has a clean California title and has current registration. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot, so please feel free to call me at (916) 539-6968. Thanks This is a No Reserve Auction.
