This 1973 Volkswagen Thing is a very sharp car that gets plenty of attention. Much of it has been rebuilt/replaced recently. Many people have not seen one before and ask why are there VW insiginia as they think it is some sort of oldmilitary vehicle, which in past years it was. A great historical story to be told. All 4 of the fenders were replaced lastyear with NEW METAL fenders at considerable cost.The engine,front suppension, brakes, brake lines, transmission, and batterywere rebuilt/replaced only 300 miles ago by the Beetle Barn of Las Vegas. The tires are like new.There is fresh paint on both the interior and exterior, The engine starts right up and runs smooth. The transmission also runs smoother and shifts well. There is a gasoline heater installed, and as I don't need it I have not even tested it. This car spent much of its life in the Southwest. Since coming East I keep it in a garage and it only comes out on sunny, dry, cool days. The front seats have been replaced bylater year high back seats. There is a bikini top installed and it is in excellent condition. There is also a NEW full convertible top that has never been installed. You will need to purchase the metal bows for the new topas the onesI have are unusable. The bowsfor the bikini top are excellent. The top will provide you with lots of shade for those hotdays. All of the carpeting is included and excellent. You may want to glue it in. Not shown are the four slide in windows that are very good condition.
