Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1988
1988 Automatic VW Vanagon 2.1LThe following parts have been recently installed: front brake pads, starter, battery, fuel filter, air filter, ignition coil, plugs, wires, caps and rotor. ECM and rear wheel bearings both sides.
The following are spare parts that go with the vanagon: New rear brake shoes, new speedometer cable, used rear hatch and a used 2.1 used motor that has been in my basement for a couple of years and was removed from a 91 VW Vanagon and was a rebuild from Boston Bob.
Has power windows which work.
Power steering does not work.
Z Bed works perfectly. Middle seat and rails were removed years ago as the Vanagon was used to camp in by prior owner. Previous owner to me, gave to me (August 28, 2012) over five years ago as I was the mechanic that worked on the van for many years for him.
Vanagon does run but not well, probably a burnt valve. At 159,000 miles I installed a Boston Bob Motor for prior owner, odometer stopped working years ago and I did not fix the odometer as with most mechanics my personal vehicles are the last to be worked on. Item is listed as 500,000 miles, however, there is no way to know the actual mileage on the Vanagon.
Has working rear and front heat. Working A/C.
Located in Huntington, WV.
Has not been smoked in since I have owned the vehicle, and prior owner also did not smoke.
I am selling in order to purchase a larger van that is needed due to taking care of foster children.
Also, I have various other new and used parts that will go with the Vanagon.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Winning bidder will be responsible for pick-up/transport arrangements of Vanagon.
