Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1970

Star Wars Volkswagen Boba Fett Beetle Bill Of Sale Only No Title.

This is a Star Wars themed VW Beetle that I call Carbonite. I built this from a 1970 Standard Beetle with a 4 inch chopped top. The car was partially restored. Floors were patched on the rear battery area on both sides with minor pinholes in front. If I had the time I would replace. There is no rust through and they are solid. I don't drive it but I did take it to 1 show where it got peoples choice. It has been sitting in my back yard for 6 months. He needs love.

Exterior

4" Chop all glass (windshield cracked) new uncut windshield is included. New pan, door, and fuel tank seal. New red fender beading. Paint is weathered flat black with green front and yellow rear fenders. The squares are only magnets that can be removed (or fly off on the freeway). The hood has a custom Star Wars mural painted by a local young Atlanta Artist. The rear deck lid is what gets the crowd. I have sculpted a 3D Han Solo (Harrison Ford) frozen in carbonite. I did this by hand out of clay, fiberglass, and Body Filler. Everything on the car can be reversed, even the sculpture can be pried off if you want to go back with an original Volkswagen. The front suspension is new with an adjustable beam and air shocks on front and back that lift the car to normal operating height and keep the wheels from scrubbing. The wheels are US Wheel 701 series Gun metal gray. 17x7 in the front 18x7 in the rear. The tires are new with less than 5 miles (drove to gas station and back). The front brakes have been converted to disc with 5x4.75 bolt pattern. The rear drum brakes are new with 5x4.75 studs (not adapters).

Interior

Rat rod style door and rear panels. Star Wars patterned fleece was resined to make door speakers and a rear deck with speakers. Hidden in the luggage compartment is 2 L5 Kicker 12in subs.

The amps are old school analog alpine amps. One under the hood and one hidden under the rear seat. Everything is on quick connects and can be removed and installed quickly for storage. The seats are new SCAT low back vinyl and the rear seat covers match the front pattern. The wiring has been upgraded (not organized) but hides under the amp and compressor in the trunk. The air system switches are manual valves and don't require electricity. The compressor is viair with a 3 gallon tank (I'm guessing). There are fittings to fill the tank manually if needed.

Engine

Stock 1600 that was in place when I bought the car. Previous owner said it was built and balanced 10 years ago. (I can't verify that) it runs and pulls normally with minimal oil leaks.

I did change the oil, filter screen, points, plugs, wires, distributor cap, pullies, and coil. It has an MST serpentine belt system.

All and all this is a fun little car that I built to fulfill my 1983 childhood Star Wars fantasy. I'm 43 now and need to move on. Feel free to ask any questions.

The car is registered and insureds in my name with a bill of sale only which is all that's required in Georgia. The car was inspected by the Dekalb County Police Department in order for it to be registered. The title is long gone according to the previous owner.
