Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1967

Very nice running and driving shape. I bought this from the original owners nephew. It had set in a storage building for 25 plus years. It came with the original side tent, roof rack, steps on the front and the childs cot. The poptop canvas is still original. The engine is still original and hasn't been rebuilt or apart other than to reseal it. One key fits all the locks. It was repainted several years ago, . At that time some body work was performed in the driver side rocker, dog legs and the left rear corner. The battery trays are still intact and solid. The front beam, frame rails and rear torsion are still in great shape. I have replaced the front wind shield rubber, rear window rubber and the rear hatch seal. It has new load rated tires with around 8,000 miles on them. All the brakes are new, new master cylinder, rubber lines and one metal line repair off the master cylinder. The shocks are the ones that were on it, still in good shape. I installed a new drag link and new tie rods.

The interior is in excellent shape. No rips or tears. The table folds and unfolds as it should. The lights are in great shape and work as they should. The curtains could be original, I don't know. My daughter tye dyed them a year or so ago because of age they didn't look so great.

When I pulled the engine, I replaced most of the seals to stop leaks from sitting for so long. It is currently running a new 30/31 carb and a new 009 distributor and fuel pump. I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and new input shaft seal in bell housing. I replace the clutch and accelerator cables.

The gas tank was in terrible shape. I ordered a new tank from Wolfsburg West along with a new sending unit. I still have the old tank and sender. It might be repairable.

My daughter has driven the bus on several camping trips. Our latest was a trip to Maine, around 2700 miles round trip with no issues other than losing the tail pipe and passenger side wiper arm. These will be replaced by the time of sale.

The side tent was never used and is in original pristine condition.
