Description for Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 1972
This 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe was purchased by the previous owner out of Las Altos CA in 1996. A restoration was performed in 2012 that consisted of an engine rebuild, new paint, new body seals, front and rear glass, a refreshed interior, a new headliner, and more. The dual-port 1600cc flat-four is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and recent work included new brakes, tie rods, a gas tank, and a rebuilt steering rack. The car has been located... in the Upstate New York area for the last 22 years, and reportedly used over the sunny days only. The second owner has added 55k miles during his ownership. A mechanical inspection was recently performed along with a tune-up and oil change. This Karmann Ghia is now being offered with service records and a clean PA title in our dealership name. The side trim and rear reflectors were removed, and the windshield gasket was replaced with a solid rubber item. The speedometer cable and fuel gauge sender were recently replaced, but the clock is inoperable. The odometer shows 94k miles and has believed to be original. Power comes from a 1600cc dual-port flat-four paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine features a 2-stage progressive carburetor, Bosch .009 mechanical distributor, and a performance exhaust. The car does not leak or use oil. Service receipts reportedly date back to 1970’s, and recent work included new brake rotors, drums, tie rods, a gas tank, and a rebuilt steering box. This vehicles vin number is: 215-795-3731
